Joyous praise

Joyous praise
Our days are numbered
Old and young
Our hearts unencumbered
Grey birdless sky
Occasionally sighs
Night is falling
Signs around us
Gathered in rags and finery
Touching power raging on endlessly
Homeless streets, temperatures dropping
Nothing is stopping joyous praise
Crowds huddled as one
As praise moves from inside
Through heart mended fingers
Frozen minds thaw knowing joyous praise
Flowing through a quiet heat
Beating hearts heard on the street
Through alive eyes the vision is sweet
People walking on fire with joyous praise
Survive to pray another day
Giving people the power
In this, our finest hour

Energy sings electric
People start to move toward joyous praise
Better days to come
Sidewalk sympathy falls like dust
But joyous praise brings life
Reality reigns through the night
All is quiet, God is here
We are one
The poet falls silent; picks up her pen
A song filled with joyous praise
